Here are two quotes that I enjoyed from The passion for early childhood series:

“The reason they (low income African American students) weren’t succeeding had nothing to do with their innate intelligence but had to do with the fact that they needed the tools to be able to, know how to survive thrive in public school system”
Professor Emeritus Louise Derman-Sparks

Its’ not all about you.  You have to take your ego out of it and think about what’s best for the child and you care about them enough to help them with what comes next, and what’s best.

My favorite childhood book are the Dr. Seuss series.  I didn't have one favorite. Every book is a classic and something you can pass down from generation to generation.
Favorite Quote: “Every day, in a 100 small ways, our children ask, ‘Do you hear me? Do you see me? Do I matter?’ Their behavior often reflects our response.” ~ L.R. Knost
